What is best ‘sustainable’ for all

On 9 May I received an invitation to meet and join Hope4SA at FLAMINGO HEIGHTS for a site inspection and introduction to the community.
I want to thank Pieter Terblanche, Rooies Strauss and their team for taking their time during our walkabout to meet and speak to certain individuals and show such interest in the needs and concerns of the community during heartfelt interactions, including a much needed donation towards the creche’s food pantry.

The financial gift to the creche was received by an emotional teacher and guardian who is so passionate about the children she cares for, that she digs into her own funds for groceries and takes it upon herself to worry about daily meals for the toddlers.
There comes a point in time when it is very necessary to look at the records, and after reconciliation be sure to remove whatever is blocking forward movement.
The growth and development of this community has been hindered in so many areas that to get to the truth of the matter, I will reiterate again, will take the time and energy of many different organizations working simultaneously to protect, improve, educate and heal.

Over the past 10 years, between eastern and western worlds with grass roots experience with homeless, poverty and poorer communities across the Western Cape, my activism and reporting, taking what is now known and applying it to the implementation of ‘sustainable solutions’ requires some serious sit down time with the right people.
In a quest for sustainable solutions the use of that word, sustainable, is freely ‘thrown around’ as a way to insinuate progress and success within the directives of government’s social responsibility and social welfare development across our country.
Text book solutions are outdated as the long way around to finding better and longer lasting solutions to our country’s problems are exactly that, the long way. A frustrating cycle which is costing too much, and the road to building the relationships for collaborations is risky yet unexplored to their full potential.
Politics and where we are headed in making a knowledgeable choice in the upcoming elections is going to be filled with uncertainty and confusion. We are being led towards separation from one another, conditioned to fear. My best intentions have already been marred by politics.
Why do we continue to project – the ‘solutions’ are being created under the precipice that we should be grouped because it’s easier to filter, economical or efficient in mass.
This is such a sad reality for many of our youth because their individuality in God’s eyes has been taken away and replaced by a distorted version of self which is separating one’s soul from Spirit.
We are creating ‘a new South Africa’ from fear based leadership, sabotage and corruption, but GOD already had a plan.

What I don’t see is any emotional maturity in the dynamics of households where one or two of the parents are addicts and this is widespread across the Western Cape. Taking responsibility is becoming outbred as so many more South Africans claw desperately to survive, that drug and alcohol abuse is more appealing. As much as gangsterism is a festering and contentious topic, a trait within coloured communities which keeps consistent after all these years, it is an excellent excuse to feed more funds into policing, weapons, technology for safety and protection, fearmongering, propaganda etc.

FAITH BASED EDUCATION – the introduction of God intelligence in decision making and more importantly awareness in schools across the country is the most desirable way forward for the implementation of sustainable solutions. Inclusive, not exclusive ‘deprogramming’. Because, when you hear positive words of love, acceptance, compassion and caring you live freely with joy and wonder, the peace needed to create.
The list of possibilities is as infinite as God’s ability to make each one of use uniquely different from one another.
If we live in faith…if we only knew…
*A man who has faith will know himself and lead his family, be a loving father and breadwinner, ensuring the welfare of the people in his care, will keep them safe and …
*A woman who has faith will love herself. She will stand by her husband and care for the family with him, create a loving home and …
*A child who has faith will feel loved, be happy and create from his true potential, never doubting his ability to succeed. This child will be adventurous, curious and try…
