WELLNESS AT THE WORKPLACE

At the end of 2010, after 20 years working in hospitality and public relations in the Western Cape, I made a life changing decision to close my event and media solutions company and intuitively began a process to ‘change my stars’. As I started ‘letting go’ towards a more holistic, healthier and natural way of living, incorporating yogic techniques, mindfullness and meditation I realized my true purpose and potentional in creating abundance.

I do not equate abundance to money, but financial freedom, definitely!

ABUNDANCE = health + happiness + family + friendships + environment = a thriving community

“I can assure you of my professional ethics, impeccable attention to detail and sincere interest in the wellbeing of others, ensuring your experience will be memorable and rewarding, perhaps even transformational!”

    YOGA STYLES

Pamela’s style of teaching combines various forms of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Iyengar Yoga.

If you can breathe you can do yoga. From beginner to intermediate.

     Hatha Yoga:Stationary

Focusing on stamina as well as endurance Pamela finds the essence of a pose and works deeper on its therapeutic benefits using Yoganetics or micro movements to strengthen or open joints, build or tone muscle.

     Vinyasa Flow:Movement

Owed to her love of dance, movement and music having many years of experience in various forms of dance from Ballet to Modern and Jazz as well as drama Pamela has the ability to choreograph and improvise making for a rewarding cardio experience. Students are taken on a journey inwards and most end the class with feelings of confidence, excitement, motivation and exhilaration.

     Iyengar Yoga:Restorative

Using props in true Iyengar style has always been an important part of Pamela’s teaching not only for beginners or to develop yogis in their practice but also as therapy and for older and ageing students. Pamela has worked in retirement homes and health care centres across the Western Cape since the beginning of 2012 and offers health advice to many of her clients, some well into their eighties, and demonstrations to groups which include breathing, meditation and seated or wheelchair exercise.

How to integrate yoga? Where do we begin?

By assessing the needs of an individual through a process of consultation and questioning we can begin to ascertain what is needed to assist in the growth and development of the person on every level – mind, body, spirit, soul, emotional and psychological.

The modern world’s approach to health has taken the responsibility away from the individual who has come to rely on doctors prescriptions, antidepressants and quick fixes without any advice on nutrition and homeopathic remedies, let alone ‘self healing’ or escoteric natural ways of combatting disease or age related illness.

By approaching these issues from an objective and honest point of view, addressing negative characteristics and personality disorders, we can begin to peel away the layers of trauma and conditioning to reveal one’s true self and unleash creative potential.

Introducing a series of techniques, postures/poses, movement and mindfullness and the consistent application and integration of all of these on a daily basis, one is ultimately brought to self realization, a super-natural, authentic and blissful state of being, which is yoga.

The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, meaning ‘to join’ or ‘to yoke’ or ‘to unite’

Anyone can do yoga. It is not a religious practise but a science for daily living.

    HEALING

20 years of experience as a Therapeutic Swedish Massage Therapist combining various massage techniques including intuitive healing, prana (breath)/pranic healing and energy medicine (Reiki). Pamela ensures the student of attention to detail and correct alignment in postures, rewarding involuntary stretches as well as the occasional yoga massage spoil.

Pamela has achieved successful, sometimes miraculous results during her massage and healing sessions which focus on deep relaxation to get recipients to identify their true sense of self. It is on this ‘spirit level’ that attitudes, addictions and even disease can be worked on.
